چکیده

innominate artery. I believe that the vessel concerned is in fact the hypoplastic ascending aorta, a component of the hypoplastic left heart of mitral and/or aortic valve atresia possibly the commonest cause of congenital cardiovascular death in the stillborn or neonate. The authors' 'truncus type III' is really the pulmonary trunk continuing into the wide ductus arteriosus; naturally, the vessel has no coronary ostia and it joins the aortic arch distally. Microdissection might demonstrate coronary ostia in the root of the tiny ascending aorta. The matter is referred to in my monograph (Hudson, i965). Reginald E. B. Hudson 'Thalassa', West Beach Road, Shoreham-by-Sea, Sussex, BN4 5LF.

Different Presentation of Anomalous Origin of the Left Coronary Artery from the Pulmonary Artery in Adults: Case Reports

Anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery (ALCAPA) is a rare congenital cardiac malformation. We report three cases of ALCAPA who survived to adulthood. The first case was a 51-year-old woman who complained of typical chest pain that was diagnosed with ALCAPA using cardiac catheterization and coronary computed tomographic angiography (CTA). The second case was a 30-...

The Anomalous Origin of the Left Coronary Artery from the Pulmonary Artery (ALCAPA): a Case Series and Brief Review

Background Anomalous left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery (ALCAPA) is a rare congenital cardiovascular defect that occurs in approximately 1/300 000 live births or 0.5% of children with congenital heart disease. There are two types of ALCAPA syndrome: the infant type and the adult type. The most infants experience myocardial infarction and congestive heart failure, and approximately 9...

Computed tomography in the evaluation of the anomalous origin of the coronary artery: coexistence with other congenital heart disease in an adult population.

BACKGROUND The aim of the study is to assess the prevalence of anomalous origin of the coronary artery in cardiac computed tomography (CT) and to evaluate its coexistence with other congenital heart disease. MATERIALS AND METHODS 7,115 patients, who underwent 64-slice or dual source cardiac CT in the years 2005-2011 were screened for the presence of anomalous origin of the coronary artery. ...

Anomalous origin of coronary arteries are one of These rare cases that mostly in infants leading to death due to Ischemia and heart failure , and sometimes survive until Adulthood and attent...

Anomalous origin of coronary artery: taxonomy and clinical implication

OBJECTIVE Anomalous origin of coronary artery is uncommon. The taxonomies of anomalous origin of coronary artery are inconsistent and complex. Conceptual and therapeutic debates remain. The aim of the present study is to reappraise the concept of anomalous origin of coronary artery and to discuss the potential hazards and treatment rationale of this anomaly on basis of literature review. METH...
